Which foam inserts do I need - the white or the red ones?

White inserts fit Whirlpool-built rods, including Whirlpool, Maytag and Whirlpool-made Kenmore washers. Red inserts fit Samsung top-load rods. Not sure? Contact us with your model number.

I rebuilt my rods but the washer still shakes. What should I check?

Check the drive hub and basket bushing. With the washer unplugged and empty, lift the basket and push it side to side - real looseness or a clunk points to a worn hub or bushing.

Why refurbish my rods instead of replacing them?

Refurbishing restores rods that are still in good shape and skips matching dozens of rod lengths and styles. If a rod is worn or bent, replace it instead.

Do I need damping grease with these inserts?

Yes - pair the inserts with Bounce-B-Gone BA-80048 damping grease for a full repair. If you already have grease left over, these foam-only bags let you redo the rods without another kit.

Does the grease and foam kit include both the white and red inserts?

Yes - the kits come with both Whirlpool (white) and Samsung (red) inserts. Use the set that matches your washer and keep the rest for later.

Will these work on GE or front-load washers?

Not on GE top-load washers. On any front-load washer, the grease can be applied to the suspension shocks, but the foam inserts can't be used.

How many repairs does one bag cover?

Each bag holds about 100 foam inserts - enough to repair 25 total suspension rod systems.

How do these compare to the original factory foam?

They're slightly longer and denser than OEM foam, which gives better damping action.

Do I need this grease when installing new suspension rods?

No - new rods work fine on their own, and the Samsung rods sold here come pre-greased from the manufacturer. The grease and foam are an optional upgrade for extra damping.

I regreased the rods but it still shakes, or the bounce came back. What should I check?

Check the drive hub and basket bushing. With the washer empty and unplugged, lift, rock and turn the basket - a clunk, play or wobble points to worn parts that grease can't fix.

Which washers do the foam inserts fit?

Samsung top-load rods (the red inserts) and Whirlpool/Maytag rods. They won't fit GE suspension rods, which use a completely different socket and housing design.

What is included with the grease?

The 50ml kit has a jar of grease, 8 color-coded EVA foam inserts (4 red for Samsung rods, 4 for Whirlpool rods) and 2 clean-up wipes. It's sold as packaged; the insert mix can't change.

Do I have to replace my suspension rods if my washer bounces?

No - not if the rods are intact and only the factory grease or foam has degraded; this restores the damping. Worn or bent rods, or a worn hub, still need replacing.

How many washers can one jar service?

The 50ml jar holds enough grease to restore between 4 and 8 machines. A 500ml jar is available for servicers who do frequent repairs.

How do I use it?

Apply it in the suspension rod damping cups your washer has - skip spots with no cup. It slows rapid rod movement in spin. Replace degraded foam with the included inserts at the same time.

What are the grease specs?

Viscosity is 35,000 cSt for the 50ml and a 27,000 cSt target for the 500ml. NLGI 2.5+; penetration 220-250 (0.1mm at 25C); mineral base oil with polymer thickener.
