Processing Times: Orders placed before 3pm EST are almost always shipped the same day during weekdays (Monday-Friday).

As per our shipping system, 70% of all orders are processed in less than 24hrs, and over 90% are processed in less than 48hrs. This number includes ALL orders, even on weekends.

Free Shipping: Free shipping is available on all US-bound products for orders totaling over $23.00 USD. Typically, this means USPS First Class delivery which is 3-7 days shipping time. However, on larger/heavier orders, this means USPS Priority or UPS Ground, which varies from 2-5 days, depending on destination.

Location & Transit Times: All packages currently ship from Central Ohio, with a huge number of locations very close in terms of transit times. As per our shipping system, 65% of US/Domestic orders are delivered within 3 days of ordering, including processing. 

Priority Shipping Delivery Up-Charge: Any charges or services made beyond free shipping are based on the wholesale rate for the service. 

Returns: All returns for un-used product are subject to a 25% restocking fee. Please contact us prior to returning an item so we have the return request in our system. 

Please note we cannot guarantee delivery times - these are estimates by the post office and/or UPS. In the event of an item being accidently shipped via a slower service, we will provide a 100% refund on the cost of shipping. USPS nor UPS offer money-back guarantees on shipping times, so we cannot extend refunds on USPS Priority or other services, unless the package is lost, or USPS will offer our business a refund.

Lost Packages: 

Packages shown as "Delivered / In Mailbox" or "Handed to Recipient" are considered delivered by our company, and may not be eligible for a refund or replacement without a filed police report regarding mail theft of the item.

Often however, we've found that asking neighbors and calling your local postmaster or mail service that has delivered the package usually resolves the loss within 1-3 days. Often times, its been handed to another family member, or mistakenly marked as delivered when in actuality, not delivered.

Packages shown as en-route, but delayed without any tracking updates for no less than 3 days (domestic) or 7 days (international) are considered lost by the carrier, and we will immediately re-ship the item by customer request, free of charge. 

Shipping Protection Policy: if you have paid for shipping protection, the police report policy is immediately waved, and a new item will be shipped immediately upon request if the package has not been found/recovered after 2 days of showing delivery. 

Refunds for items shown as delivered or received is prohibited without insurance.

Brokerage Fees consist of numerous fees, but the fees listed below (Entry Prep Fees and Bond Fees) are the ones most likely to be applied to your order over and above our shipping charges. (Note that US Postal Service does not have to charge you Brokerage Fees.)

Entry Preparation Fees: fees charged by UPS to take your package(s) through customs. These fees are on packages shipped STANDARD (Ground) to Canada. If you use UPS Express or Expedited, there are no entry prep fees. These fees are charged by UPS to take your package(s) through Customs. If you can take the package through Customs yourself, you can avoid this fee.


To avoid the Entry Preparation Fees, you can take your package(s) through Customs yourself. You will have to go to the port's UPS Customs Warehouse nearest you, pick up the paperwork on the box, take it through Customs, then return to the warehouse to get your package(s). Call UPS at 1-800- PICK-UPS after you receive a Quantum View email from UPS with your tracking number. Tell them you would like to clear the package(s) through Customs yourself. Have the tracking number handy. They will give you further instructions.

Location of UPS Customs Warehouses: Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Fort Erie, Windsor and Hamilton.

Rates for Entry Preparation Fees are based on the value of the shipment and do not include applicable duties or taxes which are also your responsibility. All rates are in Canadian funds.

Bond Fees: fees charged by UPS to collect the duty and taxes which are the responsibility of the customer. Customers are responsible for payment of duties (fees imposed by Customs based on the value of your shipment) and taxes (imposed by the Canadian government).


UPS must post a bond to allow shipments to be released in advance of payment of duties and taxes to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
If UPS has to pay the duties and taxes for you, a fee of 2.7% of the total of these or a minimum of $5.85 will be charged. If you pre-pay the duty and taxes, there are no bond fees.You can pay duty and taxes before your shipment arrives to avoid the bond fees and/or C.O.D. fees.


To avoid bond fees, pre-pay the duties and taxes owed on your shipment. To do this, call 1-800-PICK-UPS as soon as you receive a Quantum View email from UPS that your shipment is on its way, give them the tracking number and tell them you want to pay the duties and taxes ahead of delivery by credit card or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) plans.

C.O.D.: fees charged by UPS to collect the duties and taxes from you at the time of delivery.

If UPS delivers your order to you and if you have not prepaid the duties and taxes, you will be charged a $4.25 C.O.D. charge on top of the duty and taxes and brokerage fees.


To avoid C.O.D. charges, pre-pay the duties and taxes owed on your shipment. To do this, call 1-800-PICK-UPS as soon as you receive a Quantum View email from UPS that your shipment is on its way, give them the tracking number and tell them you want to pay the brokerage fees, duties and taxes ahead of delivery with your credit card or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) plans.

 

Please note that duties/fees are your responsibility, and not the responsibility of Bens Appliances. If a package is rejected at customs and returned to our store, any fees paid for the shipping of the package will not be refunded.
