It didn't fit my Whirlpool WTW5640XW3. The shaft on my transmission was much smaller than the hole in the bushing and the original bushing in the basket was not pressed in, it was epoxied in place so could not be removed anyway.

I had a major banging issue with my Maytag washer, and after trying to fix it in phases, this part was the final piece to make everything stable. I started by replacing the suspension rods and adding a metal hub, but neither fully solved the problem. It wasn’t until I installed this bushing that the washer became perfectly stable.

While I highly recommend replacing all three parts—the suspension rods, metal hub, and this bushing—it’s worth noting that the OEM parts are much cheaper. That said, if you’re dealing with a similar issue, this bushing is definitely worth the investment. The fit was tight (had to work a bit to get the tub into place), but once in, my washer runs smooth and quiet.

It took some work to get to the bushing, but was totally worth the trouble to fix rather than buy a new washer.

My washer has been a champ - but it's seen better days. I think the products I have purchased could work but since I'm doing this myself, I am leery of even trying!

so I ordered one of these thinking since the business is in Ohio and I am too, then it should be here at best over night and at least by Monday and the order was made on Thursday. perhaps I thought that because I was in a dire way! washing machine down, 4 kids and a wife who is showing concerns over the growing mountain of clothes with each passing day. I'm sure lots of people can understand this and if I'd ordered the part when it wasn't broken I would have it now. however I did but it was an amazon knock off. the ID was large enough that when I put the bearing in and lowered it onto the transmission shaft it was wobbling worse than the one I took out. anyways lots of lessons here but the biggest is, somethings you just don't get from Amazon. this bushing once it arrived went to work immediately! worked like a charm and reduced the mountains of dirty clothes without a hiccup.

I've installed quite a few of these and they work great. I'm not going to pretend like the installation is easy but I have not failed to get one in successfully so far. The important thing is sanding the transmission shaft absolutely clean and I always put a thin layer of grease on it as well and then it's just brute force after that.

I buy from Ben’s a lot, all of the products aside from this I love but this thing will not allow the tub to slide back over the gearcase shaft after it is installed . I mean we tried lubricant and a sledgehammer and eventually got it to go on but I still don’t think it went on completely. Next time I’ll just buy a new wash basket.

This part fixed a washer that used to shake so bad it walked across the room! I would give it 5 stars except I had to sand down the outermost portion of the part to achieve a good seating fit. Not a big deal but having sandpaper on hand - and doing dry fits - are both things to consider before fully seating this part into the wash tub. Highly recommend watching Ben's videos and trying this repair before buying a new washer, it's totally worthwhile.

This as well as the metal hub and bounce be gone made the washing machine like new.

This bushing was well made and had good tolerances. It had both a snug fit into the drum as well on to the transmission shaft. This required seating the bushing with a hammer and a piece of pipe. The snug fit minimizes drum wobble and shaking. Tip: I utilized Loctite Marine Anti-Seize on the mating surfaces of the splined shafts to prevent them from corroding again. I had a dickens of a time removing the agitator. I had to utilize a bottle jack, a chain, and a couple of 2x4 block across the top of the cabinet to remove it.

I bought the tub bushing and the grease for the rods. The machine is working better than new!

After talking with you guys and inspecting my tub it was obviously the bushing was shit,the videos helped greatly, I wasn't sure I got the nut tight enough but figured I'd find out tight but not to tight is what it is,took the wobble of the tub out instantly.

After ordering the item, I followed along with your helpful video. Replacing the washing machine parts fixed all issues! Everything is working great now, shocks are back to normal, and the metal bracket also helped a lot.

Lived with an unbalanced whirlpool basket for years until the unit literally could not finish a cycle. Problem started almost immediately after purchase. Tried several fixes before learning these units have cheap basket bushings that wear out, but couldn't get a factory replacement without buying a whole new basket – more than the value of the unit at this point. Ben's aftermarket bushing was the perfect solution. The install video was easy to follow, the new part is even better than the original factory bushing, and my washing machine works like new!

I was on my last idea for my seven-year-old Maytag Bravos top-loader. (I know, I never should have bought it in the first place, but that was before I knew better, and the set was on a great sale.) Nothing would stop the banging, shaking, and walking. I replaced the suspension rods (with cheap Amazon rods - not the best idea), and I installed the metal basket hub to no avail. I couldn't keep the hub screws tight; they just shook loose, and the play between the basket and the tub would be right back again. Then I installed this orange wonder. The basket and tub are now like one unit again. I also rebuilt my OEM suspension rods with Bounce-B-Gone, just for good measure, and I went back to an OEM hub, but I'm sure it's the bushing that has made the difference. I have now washed a small load of clothes, a medium load of mostly towels, a full load of clothes, and a load of throw blankets, and the machine is smooth, quiet, and stationary.

Replaced the old worn out OEM with this bushing along with new suspension rods and the metal hub assembly and our 8 year old whirlpool runs quieter and smoother than when it was new. It took some time to replace the parts, and the result was worth it!

I don’t know if this was the problem or not. It seemed like it could have been. The machine just was off balanced so I went with this and the metal spline kit and the grease kit. The machine runs like a champ now!
