I had a major banging issue with my Maytag washer, and after trying to fix it in phases, this part was the final piece to make everything stable. I started by replacing the suspension rods and adding a metal hub, but neither fully solved the problem. It wasn’t until I installed this bushing that the washer became perfectly stable.
While I highly recommend replacing all three parts—the suspension rods, metal hub, and this bushing—it’s worth noting that the OEM parts are much cheaper. That said, if you’re dealing with a similar issue, this bushing is definitely worth the investment. The fit was tight (had to work a bit to get the tub into place), but once in, my washer runs smooth and quiet.
Works great, whirlpool washer like new again, no longer bouncing around and wife is happy, cloths no longer dripping wet when putting them in the dryer. Note, take your time when installing bushing/hub combination, very tight fit, so take your time installing it as videos indicate. I also regressed the shock absorbers. Took about ~1.5 hours from start to finish, I’m not a washer repairman, but very handy when it comes to home appliance repair…YouTube is a game changer just watch the videos.
