Description
This is the replacement pressure sensor for washing machine control boards from many makes and models of units from 2009-current.

This is the primary water level sensor for Whirlpool / Maytag / Amana control systems from the Pima Alto label, used in Vertical Modular Washing Machines.
3 of the 8 pins are used to provide voltage in, ground, and voltage out to the control board. The pins need properly oriented to the control board to work properly after desoldering the old sensor.
Specs: PIEZORESISTIVE SENSOR, GAGE, 0.87PSI MAX, 2.5%, 0.5-4.5V, SQUARE, THROUGH HOLE MOUNT

I ordered two just in case I have already tried a water pump took mine off and it looked OK. I took it apart. Everything‘s OK. I put the new one on and it didn’t work so I ordered the sensor from ben’s appliance. I got it in about three days. I took the computer board out. The toughest part was un soldering the old part then I soldered in the new part put it all back together and it worked great thank you Ben. I am subscribed to your channel. I enjoy it lots of good information so anybody out there do not worry about ordering these parts. They have the same part number also as the old parts so it works. Allan. PS if you look at the bottom photo in the center you’ll see where I removed the old sensor and then if you look at the top picture, you’ll see old center in the center. It’s a little round tube standing up.
My Amana washer was continually in a drain cycle, because the pressure sensor apparently goes bad on these circuit boards frequently, confusing the machine into a endless drain cycle state since it cannot determine the water level if the sensor is unable to report correctly back to the computer. This replacement sensor did the trick; replacing it on the circuit board and triggering a new full cycle got it working again like a charm. Hope this sensor lasts, time will tell. Thanks so much for this separate part so I didn't have to buy a new board with the same original sensor! Your YouTube tutorial video is a great guide on how to replace this sensor.
Watched Ben's YouTube video about fixing a constantly draining washing machine, tried the fix (I have some soldering experience), and it worked! My 2024 Amana washing machine now works like normal. Couldn't be happier.
Ben has a confusing YouTube how to orient the new sensor on the board. If yours didn't work, and you ONLY watched his YouTube you probably installed it backward. Watch LAappliance guy-Redneck engineer. Anyway, after removing old sensor i had trouble removing solder from circuit board holes. Fortunatly i had some .030 diameter drill bits u sumply drilled out the soft solder. You can use paper clip wire or similiar. New sensor fit perfectly, a touch of the soldering gun the remaing solder instantly flowed to the pins. Been working PERFECTLY ever since. Be sure to watch YouTubes how to RECALIBRATE washer before starting, also no rugs, towels, blankets for first load, just T shirts etc.
Ben’s Appliance and Junk is a life saver when it comes to appliance repair. A few weeks ago I’ve purchased this pressure sensor, installed it, and it works great. I was able to saved over $200.
This part was the proper replacement for the oem sensor. Be sure to have the appropriate tools ( good soldering pen, quality flux, wick and low melt solder is a good help ) and basic skills before taking on this project as it can go wrong quickly. After putting the machine back together, be sure to run the calibration cycle in diagnostic mode.
No need to replace the control board or washing machine. The instructional videos are very helpful.
arrived very fast , installed thursday night everything went super easy . thank you Ben for all the leg work and info you provide you really are a life saver ! /////Ken Carmine Appliance... .so I have been soldering for quite sometime now and I recommend using a good flux, it makes things so much easier . see the pic of the stuff I have used for years . takes care of the contaminants, and you can solder faster having less chance of heat damage and solder goes right where its suppose to :)

Must have soldering knowledge or be handy and watch the YouTube videos out there and follow instructions with good detail. I didn't have any soldering knowledge, but i am an appliance repair technician and followed the guidance on the videos. I am pleased with the results. Thank you.

After watching Ben's excellent video I was able to fix my washer with the ADP5 sensor replacement. The PCB was decent quality, so the removal and resoldering went smoothly. It was real hard getting my Cycle knob off, be sure to pull it straight out. I tried installing a socket in case it needed replacement again, but 8-pin wide sockets that fit the sensor's wide / flat pins were impossible to find. Thanks, Ben!

Item arrived swiftly, and after cutting old sensor from board, and desoldering remaining leg nubs, I patiently soldered new sensor in ensuring not to over heat anything... so far so good, my machines back up and running! Mahalo from Hawaii. 🤙🏽

Greetings everyone. I'm Pablo from Puerto Rico. I'll be using a translator since my English isn't very good. I have a Whirlpool washing machine, and about a month ago, it started having problems; the drain pump would stay on. I searched on YouTube and Google until I found a YouTuber who mentioned Ben. I quickly went online and ordered the pressure sensor, and it arrived yesterday. Although I'm not an expert at soldering, I looked for a soldering iron and a desoldering pump. And I got to work. It was easy to desolder the old one and install the new one. I quickly did a test, and the washing machine completed its entire wash cycle. Ben, thank you very much.
