This is the replacement upper portion of GE's two piece washer agitator assembly for the models listed below.
This OEM auger is designed as a direct replacement for compatible washing machines. Located at the top of the agitator in the center of the wash basket, the white spiral-shaped auger rotates during the wash cycle to circulate clothing through the water. As it turns, it pulls garments upward before allowing them to fall back into the wash, creating the agitation needed to loosen dirt, stains, and other soils for a thorough clean. A worn or damaged auger can cause symptoms such as grinding or scraping noises, poor washing performance, incomplete agitation, or clothing that becomes tangled or damaged during the cycle.
Symptoms for replacement include, broke/cracked, spins freely in both directions, clothes come out dirty, if broken it can also cause holes in clothes.
