Description
This is the impeller portion of the newer Whirlpool washer that has the 2 in 1 removable agitator. The full set includes the W11614636 Agitator and the W11510462 Cap for when the agitator is removed, to prevent snags and torn clothes from the center of the impeller.
The washplate is a low profile disk that is designed to circulate clothes in a back and forth motion that changes the water direction to rub your clothes against each other and cleans them gently. The design of the washplate also allows for more room for bulky items.
Signs your washplate needs replaced could include, cracks, breaks, poor cleaning, grinding noise, it freely spins by hand or binds during agitation.
