Description

If your evaporator cover becomes too waterlogged, has styrofoam damage, or has cracked severely, replacing it is very important. Without the evaporator cover being in good working condition, air won't flow through the vents properly, or can store moisture during defrost, icing up the evaporator fan, or causing the refrigerator to leak.

This assembly replaces both the entire panel AND the fan as one unit.

Wrong cover for my model refrigerator (my mistake)

Evidently, I needed the DA97-12608B cover (discovered after I had received the A model from Ben's and modified it). I suppose the part was excellent, but it was the wrong model for my Samsung French Door. I ended up disassembling the new cover to use the undamaged Styrofoam on my old cover. I had to do a fair amount of cutting to relocate the vent holes and to shorten the overall length. After that, it seemed to work ok.

Poor QA/QC amd shipping

The wrong part was shipped the first time. I asked the correct part be shipped expedited and it still took another four days. I was without a refrigerator for over two weeks

Replacement Evap Cover

Fits perfectly and resolved my defrosting issue!

Looks good, fits poorly

Except the missing writing, the new one looks identical to the original. I ended up reinstalling the original because I could not get the new one to seat properly. If the original ends up not working properly, I will make modifications to fit the new one correctly. I didn’t take the time to see where the new one was having issues, as I needed to get the fridge working.
