Garage Heater Kit - Universal 120v System BA-18301-120V

Price:
Sale price$29.99

Description

This is our modified garage heater kits for units that cannot accept the traditional Frigidaire Garage Heater Kit system with piggyback connectors.

This system allows you to splice into any 120v AC system via the Posi-Tap connectors, and generate heat to trigger the refrigerator to run consistently in cold weather.

This kit will work for standard, mechanically-controlled refrigerator cold controls as well, as the posi-tap systems can tap into any 14-16awg wire.

12v and 5v Kits Coming Soon!

This Kit Includes:

  • 8w, 5" x 4" Heating Pad with 12" Power Wires
  • 2x 14-16AWG Posi-Tap Electrical Connectors
  • 120v, 2a Rocker Switch to turn the heating pad on and off
  • 10ml Dielectric Grease to insulate/weatherproof Posi-tap connectors
  • 2x High-Temperature nylon cable ties for cable management

Buyer Beware - No Instructions

I bought this kit on the recommendation from this site's support team for my Whirlpool refrigerator that I keep in the garage. It does not come with any instructions, and the support team was not able to provide instructions via email. I detailed how I intended to install it, but the support team was not willing to confirm if it was correct.
Once I performed the installation, it was clear that the compressor was running 24/7, and everything in the refrigerator froze. Again, the support team was not able to provide any advice or corrections to the installation and instead referred me to their $30 phone support option. At the end of the day, this means that you pay $30 for this kit and then $30 for the installation instructions, assuming the phone support can provide the proper guidance.
Pretty disappointed in the experience overall, I had high hopes given the clarity of instruction given in the youtube video for the other Frigidaire kit. I would like to believe this is just an oversight but beware if you buy this kit and plan to install it yourself.
