If your Whirlpool-built lint top dryer is not starting at all when you push the start button, its very likely this item that is preventing it from running. If the blower housing area overheats, this fuse will trip causing the dryer to stop running, saving the unit from possibly catching on fire.

Whirlpool manufactured this series of dryer for many other companies including: Amana, Maytag, Kenmore, Roper, KitchenAid, and others. If you are installing a WP279838 dryer element, this is the matching kit.

This item features as part of the 279838 element, 3392519 thermal fuse and 3387134 cycling thermostat kit.

Dryer problem troubleshooted, and FIXED!

I watched a Ben's Appliance video on fixing a Whirlpool/Maytag dryer, then applied what I learned in that video to my broken dryer, found out what the problem was and ordered the parts to fix it, which saved me a lot of money!
