Is anything needed after installation?

Yes - the washer needs to be recalibrated after this part is installed. Replacing the W10734521 slider at the same time is highly suggested.

What is included in the kit?

The clutch assembly, a new stator bolt with threadlocker, and a wire harness cluster bracket. Adding extra threadlocker is suggested for safety.

Does this replace part W10447973 or W10817398?

I replaced this and the slider but still get F7E5 or noise. What next?

The fault is likely elsewhere in the drive system. Check the drive belt for slipping or stretching, the motor, the rotor for wear or shaft play, and the main control board.

Is it normal for the new clutch to leak grease?

No - fast grease leaks aren't common. They can point to improper seating or alignment during installation, a defective part, or stress from a worn hub, bearing or transmission.

Description

120V, 60Hz, electro-magnetic clutch assembly. Fits Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag and Crosley large capacity top load washers using the "Direct Drive" rotor/stator system.

This fixes error codes such as F7E1 as well as grinding noises that will cause the washing machine to fail to spin.

Kit includes clutch assembly, new stator bolt w/ threadlocker (although we suggest extra for safety) and wire harness cluster bracket.

We highly suggest replacing the W10734521 slider in combination with the clutch system. Additionally, the machine does need recalibrated after this part is installed to ensure proper operation.

Good video and good parts sent but the issue was not what the video indicated.

I found your video to be the best YouTube video on the Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8500DC2 but you needs to be expanded to cover the failure mode I found. I will list this shortly and provide pictures.
So, I packed up the piece of crap washing machine that was 8 years old that I had already replaced the main circuit and on/off valves in and took it to the junk yard. THen went out and bought a new Speed Queen TR7

These parts fit perfectly on my washing machine, but they did not fix the problem. I suppose this where a more qualified service technician would have been the proper course of action. The odd noise I was hearing was the Gear Case failing… probably should have checked this first.
