Yes - the W10754448 electromagnetic clutch/shift assembly is recommended alongside this slider, and the two are usually replaced together.

What does the slider do, and what are the signs it's worn?

It slides the assembly that lets the washer shift into spin. A worn slider commonly causes grinding when spin or agitation starts and can affect shifting and draining.

I replaced the slider and clutch but it still won't spin properly. What's next?

The problem is likely elsewhere in the drive system. Check the motor and main control board, and look for wear on the rotor or play in the shaft.

This is the Whirlpool slider assembly kit for "Direct Drive" stator-driven washing machines. This item slides the assembly allowing the machine to spin and can wear down, causing many issues.

Wife thinks I am a miracle worker!

Washing machine stopped spinning/draining. After watching numerous videos, I found Ben's video. He clearly showed what was causing the issue and his link gave me the exact parts I needed. Great fix from the video

Watched your video and diagnosed the problem. Might recommend to customers to change both the slider and rotor? The plastic mating surfaces were wiped on both of mine. I ordered this slider then panic bought off Amazon to get it in time. Overall great product and how-to guide for the DIYer.

I’m having difficulties sourcing a slider ring assembly for my Maytag washer, model # GTW680BMRWS

Thanks to Ben's video I was able to install these parts in less than one hour. After the repair I cleared the F7E5 error code and ran a washer calibration cycle as per the service manual. Then four loads of clothes were put through the washer and there were no error codes afterward.

Great Product, Perfect Fit

I purchased this item along with the clutch assembly to fix my Whirlpool washer. Followed the video and the slider assembly worked like a charm! Fits perfectly and fixed my washer issue. I didn't need to replace the clutch assembly at all. My suggestion for anyone trying to put the ring back on is to slightly spread open the ring to make it easier to put back on. Great product at a great price!
