Description

If your Samsung Icemaker is no longer operating properly, replacing the icemaker may solve your problems. We now stock both the "Short" (13718C) and "Long" (15217D) ice maker for most Samsung ice makers made from 2013 through 2021. 

These icemakers are a common part of the ice maker not working failure, and are also prone to warping or damage when the ice making cabinet is overheated by a hair dryer or other extremely hot warming device that isn't the defroster.

Note that the DA97-15217 unit is longer, and features 10 ice cubes for full-depth Samsung refrigerators, and the DA97-13718C is for the shorter, counter-depth 8-cube model of ice maker. If you have any confusion or questions about what is right for you, send us an E-mail.

Icemaker upgrade to help replace older version.

Original Icemaker was a "DA97-15217A" series made in 2019/Dec/18. Purchased the "DA97-15217D" as the upgrade model. Per some online help videos all the other upgrades were already installed in the Icemaker area. As in the clips on the coil, the extension on the fill hose, and the sealing of the Icemaker area. The new Icemaker is for the most part the same size as the original one with one feature I found different. The Motor drive area is smaller. This does not impact the installation at all. The mounting screw and tabs are all spot on. The actual installation was a little tricky since there is little room to work with. Again as everyone stresses do not damage the coil that is attached to the refrigerator that goes under the Icemaker. You are done and need another refrigerator. Ben's Appliances for this replacement Icemaker was a good experience on the ordering and answering some questions that I had before purchase. Thanks

Success

My local appliance repair guy wouldn’t even look at my Samsung refrigerator, he said go buy anything but a Samsung. We went without the ice maker for years until I saw this video. I followed instructions including applying the sealant and months later we still have ice with no frozen mechanism. Awesome!

I can't believe it worked!
No more ice buildup or frost on the bottom of this new ice maker . Samsung should of paid for the replacement they mew it was defective. But thanks to Ben's Appliance and junk they helped with the fix at a great price!!
