Which belt do I need, 4400EL2001A or 341241?

4400EL2001A is the LG dryer belt used in the LG 4581 noise kit. 341241 is the belt in the Whirlpool 4392065 kit, used on many Whirlpool, Maytag and Estate dryers.

What usually causes a squeaking or grinding dryer?

Most often a worn drum roller or idler pulley. Replacing the rollers, idler and belt together, as in the LG 4581 or Whirlpool 4392065 noise kits, covers the usual causes.

My new belt snapped soon after I installed it. Why?

Belt failures are rare. A quick break usually means the drum isn't turning freely and the motor burns through the belt, so check the rollers and idler before fitting another belt.
