Appliance Repair Screwdriver 11 in 1

It has basically all the sizes of hex you need to install an washer/dryer. It's got the right size sockets for dryer cords and panels. The ONLY thing it doesn't have that could be useful is a hex sized for worm clamps for dryer ducts.

I purchased 3... one for myself, one for my (male) BFF, and one for my dad. I'll preface by saying that I'm a woman who has similar warm fuzzy feelings about Menards that many women report feeling about Target. If they had a Starbucks, I would would be perfect.

At first, my dad and BFF responded with, "Oh, thanks... but I have screwdrivers like this." Then I pointed out the hex bits. We always talk about how hard it is to locate a hex when you need it. They were both a bit more interested once I pointed that out. Since then, both of them have commented that the screwdrivers are much sturdier than they would have guessed, and much sturdier than most screwdrivers of this design.

I went with 4 stars because I haven't actually used it yet...

I really like the 11 in 1 driver and would see it as an ideal companion when looking to do appliance repairs if you just want to carry that tool and a pair of pliers to start with.
Great bit selection! Especially as it includes 2 common Torx bits and #1 and #2 square along with the usual Phillips and straight blades. I also appreciate having 1/4, 5/16, and 3/8 sockets available to remove hex head fasteners. The quality is pretty nice overall. It feels nice and sturdy. A great car or truck companion!
Sadly, it loses a whole star (almost could be one and a half) for exceptionally weak ball detents that hold the various bits and the center sleeve/shank in place. Some of them are practically ready to fall out. In use I have had it leave a bit behind when I was trying to reposition the driver. The detents seemed to weaken with use which was distressing.
The handle is rather large and long. The handle diameter gives the opportunity for more torque, but it's kind of bulky. In order to get 3/8 hex drive the shank tube has to be big so it isn't as maneuverable in tight spots and is pretty hopeless if you have any recessed screws.
Overall it's a nice driver probably more worthy of 3.5-4 stars. I would certainly recommend it, but with some reservations.

It's very sturdy. I look forward to using it when I do my yearly laundry appliance maintenance!
